Every personal trainer has their own training style, technique, and philosophy about the body.
And mine is as such;
The hips are the cornerstone of the body. If you have a bad back, you probably have weak hips. If you have bad knees, you probably have weak hips. If you have bad ankles, you probably have weak hips.” -Coach Samira Grady

Many problems in the body are tied to weak hips and weak hip flexors. Funny story how I discovered this.

Before I became a certified personal trainer I broke my right foot playing basketball.
My doctor told me the cause of my loss of balance was a pre-existing back injury as well as extremely tight hips.

Surprisingly, once my cast was off, my doctor gave me several Hip stretches to continue to do during my healing process.
It was at the moment when I realized how important flexible hips are!

Once I really began to think about it I realized I was treating my hips poorly without realizing it! I am a person that has a on-going battle with anxiety and nervousness (believe it or not lol) I realized I was storing all my anxiety in my hips because I was always tense and clinching my hips without realizing.
It’s been studied that men and women especially store trauma in the hips. Which adds to the fun!
With all these things in mind, I have comprised tips and a workout routine below for anyone who may either want to strengthen their hips, strengthen hip flexor, or gain more flexibility.
Below, you will find the full Battleready Hips Workout routine.
Please remember when doing these exercises; always keep a slow and controlled tempo, not ego lift (try to lift heavier than you need too), focus on trying to feel the muscle group your working to have that mind muscle connection 💪🏽
